So Excited!!

Ok so im getting so excited for Prom! I know thats prob. going to be the topic of all the girls blogs this week. I don't know exactly what it is but Prom is just such an exciting time. Getting your nails done, your hair done too, then dressing up and having your date look as good as you; all these things just accumulate and add to the fun. Also the fact that its a once a year deal also makes it all the more special. So Friday all my girls and me are going to Fairview to eat and get our nails done. Then that night were all going to go watch Travis play at V&H. Then its the day of Prom. Im supposed to help my mom during the day by labeling and mailing out my graduation invites. Then at 2 p.m. I'm going to go get my hair done, which I've got 2 styles to choose from still. Then were all meeting at a lil' before 4 at Jennie's house where our bus is going to pick us up. From there were going to the Winery to take pictures & then eating at Texas Roadhouse.

Why all the drama?

Its the end of the school year and some of us seniors will never see each other again or at least we won't see each other on any sort of regular baisis. Yet, with all of us knowing this seniors are still starting all kinds of drama with each other. I just wanna ask why? We should just enjoy the few days we have left together and try to leave on a good note. But no they just have to keep up the drama that isn't helping anyone to any extint. These few people think they are helping one of their friends by turning their back on another one and thats just not cool. Especially because the first friend that they think they are "helping" doesn't want them to be jerks to the second friend. I'm friends with both of them and i think that if niether one of them feels they have a problem then the other so-called friends should just leave them alone. I mean i get that you want to help a friend out but if they don't want your help or if its realy not needed then don't be jerks and create drama out of nothing. People frustrate me, why can't we just all get along? Peace! =)

Spring!!

Technically spring is officially here but the weather lately is kinda making me doubt it. Nonetheless, it is spring and as of today at 1:15 it will be spring break! Whoo! It will be great. I have to work tonight then again Friday day, but I'll take working a Friday day over working any Friday night. But other than that I'm pretty much free over the break which is beyond exciting. Then next week when we get back I'll be here for 3 days but then I'm leavin' to go to Chicago! I can't wait for that. I only hope that the weather is warmer by then. Peace! =)

April Already?

Wow! I can't believe that its already April. It seems that this year has just flown by without me noticing it. It being April means we only have two months left of our high school careers, only about 32 days left of being a Senior. It seems like not that long ago i was a freshman and was looking up at all the seniors thinking they were so much older and cooler, maybe even a little smarter. Now that im a senior i do feel older, because duh, i am, but i also feel wiser. Like all the little things that stressed or freaked me out as a freshman all seem so ridiculous now. Now i have problems like figuring out where im living next year, and how ill pay for college. Things have a way of putting themselves in perspective. I'm sure that when im out of college & workin full time, living on my own these high school worries of mine will seem small and silly then too. So heres to future problems, being a senior for a little while longer, and hopefully a summer of forgetting it all! Peace! =)

a quote to think about

Today i saw a quote and it made me think. "When you first realize adults are imperfect, you become an adolescent, when you accept that fact you become an adult, when you accept that your imperfect you become wise." I don't remember who said that but i believe they had a very valid point. In our teen years we start to realize that adults mess up, that they don't know everything, whereas before we always thought they were all knowing. When were teens we take the fact that they don't know everything and we try to rebel and we dislike them for not their not knowing. Then when we mature and become adults ourselves we realize that its ok not to know everything and we accept that not all adults are smart or all knowing and theres not really anything we can do about that. Then most likly in our later "golden years" we come to terms with the fact that we are not perfect and we accept that fact, which makes us wise. This knowledge makes us wise because once we accept ourselves as who we are with all our faults included we can start to make us the best we can be and that is the wisest choice of all.

Senioritis

Today Jostens was here and they brought all the seniors their caps and gowns and all the thank you notes and such. I got my stuff today and it seemed like it just hit me like a wall . . . IM ALMOST DONE! Were now officially on the fourth quarter of my last year of high school! Its amazing to think about, slightly sad since I wont be seeing alot of theses people again, but mostly just awesome! That means no more getting up at a quarter 'till 7 every morning and not getting home 'till 3-ish. No more school food, no more computer concepts tests, no more pep rallies, no more high school drama, NO MORE! Whoa! Now im so pumped for graduation and a long stress-free summer spent lounging by the pool and camp-outs and all that fun nonsense. Spring is here the weather is finally warm and i just want to leave this school and move on to the woderfull summer ahead.

State, hopefully!

Ok so big hopes for our boys going onwards to state finals. One reason is def. just to have the honor of saying out boys went to state our senior year. Another main reason is that if the boys make it to state then the band doesn't have to march in the St. Patricks Day Parade, which would be amazing! Because that parade sucks!
-K so a quick up-date since i started writing this blog on Tuesday.
Well the boys lost a hard fought game by only 3 points. That is upsetting to all at school since pretty much everyone was looking forward to going to the state games. However, on a slightly happier note while the boys didn't end up going to state we still don't have to march in the parade on Saturday! Yae! That means i get to sleep in which is amazing!

Also on a side note anyone who is interested in seeing Fug'M play they are playing this Saturday night at Olies in Aviston starting at 9 p.m. and going until 1 a.m.! Peace! =D

Priorities

So this week I've been working on getting my priorities in line and figuring out what i really want to do. Latley i've been having problems with spreading my time evenly between Travis, my friends, and my family. Cuz for the most part i just want to spend time w/ Travis & my friends not really w/ my family, but i know that in not 2 long im going to be moving out and moving on & i should make the most of the time i have left with them. Also it's nice having them pay for dinner & the like and not having to feel gulity bout it like when Travis pays. Hehe! Also i have been debating my housing situation for next year. My mom and dad would rather that i went and lived in the dorms, at least for the first year. But if I dont know if i want to be spending $7,000 plus just to share a room with one other girl, and a bathroom with 3 other ones. When if i get a room-mate for an apartment i could share a whole apartment with an other girl and it would end up being cheaper in the long run. So i still have a few more decisions to make and a few more choices to follow through. Cross your fingers and wish me luck! Peace! =D

Vanessa's Birthday! Whoot!

So this Friday is Vanessa's birthday and were all excited making plans and planning a surprise for her. However, i cant help but wander how Vanessa is feeling. Shes all the way over here in America and all of her family is in Germany. I couldn't imagine not being with my family for at least part of my birthday. I know now that were older we tend to not think its "cool" to hang out with our family, but i still try to spend at least part of the day with my parents. So while its really cool to plan a party for her and buy her gifts and introduce her to yet another American tradition, I also hope that shes not too home sick. So heres hoping that she has a fantastic birthday! Peace! =D

Denny's at 11 p.m.

So this weekend was my friend Amber's birthday and she turned 18! Whao! Anyway, in honor of her not having a curfew any more we decided to take a night trip to Denny's. It was amazing, though on the way there it was slightly illegal cuz we had four people in the backseat. If your ever at Denny's at 11 then i would recomend the pancack puppies which are coated in cinnimon sugar and are served with a dish of syrup. They were fantastic especially with a side order of bacon. I'm so glad that i was able to share that night and those memeories with all my best friends!

Nice weather were having

So we've been having some amazing weather lately but unfortunatly i havn't been able to enjoy it very much since i've been feeling so blah lately. (& yes blah is a state of well being) Luckily though today is a much better day for me. The symptoms are fading and i can finally start to enjoy this lovely weather. Which today it isn't quite so lovely, truth be told. However, heres hoping that tomorrow and the rest of the weekend will be as good or better. And also a early Happy Valentines Day to all of my journalism people! peace! =D

Local bands

Ok so most people don't know it but Clinton County has a really great local band scene. I know i really didn't know anything about it until i started dating Travis, who as most people know is really big into music. His band Fug'M, which stands for Fuzzhead, Geezer, and Meat, is playing at the Red Duce this Friday and I get to go and stay the whole night up there. Which can get a little long since most times they play until 1:00 or 1:30 a.m. and then by time they repack everything up its more like 3:00 when i get home. But its still amazing to see them up there and see all the people that come out to watch them play. So if you've never been to a show or been to any musical proformance in Clinton County then i would suggest seeing one soon. Its one of the few really good times you can have in Clinton County, legally. Peace! =D

Snow Days!!!

Yae! So mother nature finally decided to grant us our wishes and gave us snow, and lots of it. When she decides it's going to snow she doesn't mess around, and for that i am so grateful. Those past two days were a nice lil break and helped me apprieciate winter a little more. I even got out in it yesterday and built a snowman, though Travis keeps calling it a pile of snow. Anyway it was a nice break and helped me get over some of my longing for summer. I still want it to be warmer and to get rid of my coat but for right now im good just looking out at the snow. Peace! =D

Were just human

This week my faith and trust has been tested big time. There were times when i just wanted to break down and cry and leave it all up to someone else to make the choices for me because it seems like no matter what way i go there is something wrong with that option. However, i just had to sit down, calm myself down and think using my brain to tell me where to go and my heart to tell me if thats where i really wanted to go. I made some tough choices but as far as they have gone they have been the right choices. I also have decided to keep in mind that were all just humans, we make mistakes and what makes the difference is how we deal with these mistakes. Someone i love made a big mistake but they are trying their hardest to make up for it now so i believe that they deserve a second chance, everyone needs a do-over once in their life.

Cold Weather Blues

The major thought in everyones minds lately, it's just too cold! With todays high predicted to only get up to 15 degrees at most I fully agree with that statement. For me I believe that there should be a law of nature that states that it is not allowed to be under 32 degrees unless it is going to snow or at least ice. Because with ice you at least get out of school and have something to show for the coldness. However, I guess i should be glad because with temperatures this low any amount of moisture will freeze instantly then it will be dangerous for everyone. Better yet though, instead of snow or ice or ridiculously freezing temperatures, how about we go back to it being warm. I love summer and right now i miss it more then ever. I long for the days of flip flops and tank tops and basking in the sun. O' Well it will come again eventually. So 'till then happy being misrible. =D

New Year, new view

So another new year, another list of resolutions. This year though i decided that i would just try to be the best me i can be. No specific resolutions just try to better myself in general. Hopefully this year i'll be able to stick to my resolution or lack there-of. Especially since in the past years i've never been very good at applying myself to them. So heres to all made and broken resolutions and may this years last longer then most. =D
